The Entrance Examination for the Higher Speciality (DM/M.Ch) Courses for the year 2008-2009 is scheduled to be conducted on 28.06.2008 at Anna University between 10.00 A.M. and 1.15 P.M. Hall tickets have been despatched for the same to all eligible candidates. Candidates who do not receive the Hall ticket in time can contact the Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, Kilpauk, Chennai-10 one day prior to the examination (on 29-6-2008), in person only, with the acknowledgement card despatched by the office of the selection committee.

Counselling Procedure

1. The Selection to Higher Speciality Courses will be made by counselling based only on merit and no communal reservation will be followed.
2. 50% of the seats available in each discipline and in each college are reserved for open category and another 50% of seats will be exclusively for service candidates.
3. Service candidates by virtue of their open merit are eligible to take seats in the open category.
4. Seats in the service category will be filled up based only on the service merit.
INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
The following Certificates should be produced in Original at the time of counselling without fail.
1. Evidence for Date of Birth
2. Post Graduate Degree / Provisional Certificate
3. Permanent Medical Registration Certificate
4. Additional Qualification Registration Certificate
5. Eligibility Certificate for candidates who have acquired Post Graduate Degree
from Universities other than the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University,Chennai.
6. Counselling Call letter
7. Demand Draft for Rs.10,000/- has to be produced in the event of Selection immediately

TO ASSESS THE INTERSE MERIT OF CANDIDATES
Certain organization like National Board, AIIMS, PGIMER Chandigarh, Manipal University, KMC Mangalore, don’t issue final year Mark Sheet and only a Pass certificate for successful candidate). Due to the above fact, to maintain uniformity in assessing the interse merit of candidates who have applied for Higher Specialty courses for the year 2008 – 09 session, the sub clause(b) under clause 52 has not been applied to assess the interse merit. The sub clauses (a), (c) and (d) under clause 52 have been taken into account in the above mentioned order to assess the interse merit.
Due to Non availability of Final PG mark sheet for DNB Candidates, the clause (b) could not be applied throughout. In the event of deletion of clause (b), it is possible to apply next two clauses in order to assess interse merit for all applicable candidates. Hence the clause (b) was deleted for consideration to assess the interse merit. The sub clauses (a), (c), and (d) under clause 52 have been taken into account in the above mentioned order to assess the interse merit.
