TNPG 2008 - 2008-2009 SESSION -COUNSELLING PROCEDURE – INFORMATION TO CANDIDATES
COUNSELLING PROCEDURE – INFORMATION TO CANDIDATES
1. Candidates are requested to attend the session ½ hour prior to commencement of counselling.
2. Candidates will be called in the order of merit/rank in batches and can chose any one of branches or colleges at the time of counselling.
3. Allotment will be made in the order of merit/rank applying rule of reservation and roster method wherever applicable.
4. The no. of seats in each speciality with breakup details such as community, service status, will be displayed at the time of counselling at every stage.
5. Candidates are requested to produce the following original certificates:
1) Evidence for Date of Birth
2) Community Certificate
3) Final MBBS Part II Mark Sheet
4) CRRI completion certificate
5) MBBS/BDS Provisional Pass/Degree Certificate
6) Permanent Medical/Dental Registration Certificate
7) Attempt Certificate for Final MBBS/BDS
8) Eligibility Certificate (other than those who studied at Bharathiar University, Bharatidasan University, University of Madras, Madurai Kamaraj University and Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University.
9) Nativity Certificate (if applicable)
10) Entrance Examination Hall Ticket.
6. Seats will be allotted to candidates satisfying the eligibility norms mentioned in the prospectus such as
a) A candidate who have completed or posess a Post Graduate Degree is not eligible.
b) A candidate who is a diploma holder is not eligible for another diploma.
c) If a candidate wants to be waitlisted during counselling he/she is automatically waitlisted in the general waitlist for all the courses.
d) Candidates can remain on the waitlist only for courses and not for colleges.
e) If a candidate is allotted a firm seat in a Degree course cannot remain the general waitlist.
f) Candidates who are absent at the time counselling at the scheduled time and date will not be considered later. However the Selection Committee reserves the right to permit him later and will be allotted seat as per the status when he actually attends the counselling.
g) The seats in the following specialities will be allotted for service candidates:
Non Clinical
1) MD Pathology
2) MD Physiology
3) MD Bio-Chemistry
4) MD Microbiology
5) MD Forensic Medicine
6) MD Pharmacology
7) MD SPM
8) MS Anatomy
Clinical
1) MD Psychiatric Medicine
2) MD Radio Diagnosis
3) MD Radiotherapy
4) MD Anaesthesia
5) MD TB & Chest Diseases
6) 5 Year M.Ch.(Neuro Surgery)
7) DMRD
8) DMRT
MDS
1) Community Dentistry
h) In the other specialities 50% of seats will be allotted for service and 50% for open category.
i) Roster method of rule of reservation will be followed afresh from 2008-2009 session if seats are more than 1 and less than 8 in each branch.
j) If the seats in each speciality are more than 8, the rule of reservation will be followed as follows:
(OC-31%, BC-30%, MBC-20%, SC 18%, ST 1%) Within 30% reservation for BC, 3.5% reservation will be provided for BC Christians and 3.5% for BC Muslims, the details of which are available in the Seat Matrix published in the website.
k) In the event any newly sanctioned seats by Medical Council of India and All India Quota surrendered seats (after II Phase of DGHS counselling) it will be allotted to candidates (already allotted or waitlisted) based on merit/community following roster rule of reservation wherever applicable.
l) Candidates who have selected a course during the first phase of counselling, wish to attend the counselling again for the newly sanctioned/All India Quota surrendered seats, have to attend on their own by seeing the website and no separate call letter will be sent to them for that purpose.
m) Candidates are advised to look into the website daily to know about the day to day counselling details and vacancy position till 31st May 2008.
