.In modern operation theatre Nurses, Operation Room Assistant (ORA), qualified anaesthetists and Surgeons (or Gyneac or Ortho etc) form and integral team. The ORA plays a major role. He/she has no formal training but has to handle a wide array of instruments from C-Arms to  Pulse Oximeter, load a wide range of drugs from Succinyl choline to Adrenaline, and assist the surgeon and assist the anaesthetist by making the patient lie on Trendelenberg position to performing Sellik's manouerve.

 

Not only the ORA, but even the surgeon as well as the young junior doctor needs to learn these techniques. One way is to refer the "big big" text books of anaesthesia like Dorsch and Dorsch, which is practically not possible for a surgeon . Also a fresh I clinical student who enters in to the theatre does not have enough background knowledge to under stand the standard text books in Anaesthesia

 

This manual fills at the gap on the practical side of teh operation room and it fulfills the natural ambition of this group to understand more on these aspects.

 

Highlights

Ideal book for a person who enters the operation theatre and is bewildered at the equipments seen there. Must read for every doctor and paramedical staff. It will be much beneficial if government or drug companies buy these kind of small yet useful, economic yet educative books in bulk and distribute
